Self Knowledge Symposium

From the About section of the website:

“The Self Knowledge Symposium (SKS) is a resource for students engaged in the spiritual search. Asking the big questions—who am I? Why am I here? What can I do with my life that will be meaningful?—is an essential aspect of the successful college experience. The SKS supports students in their quest for a meaningful life through a network of student organizations, as well as lectures, workshops, retreats, conferences and new residential programs in downtown Raleigh.”

The organisation is limited in its coverage. It only caters for students and, to my knowledge, only operates in USA. I’m drawing attention to it because I think that it provides a good model for spiritual search. It grapples with life’s big questions, both individually and within support groups, without allowing the search to be constrained by religious dogma.

The limited coverage of SKS is not a hindrance. Its model can be replicated in other countries and by other populations groups, without the new organisations having to function under the SKS umbrella.
